One of Cable's favourite and most loved brands returned to our arches on the 8th February, this time fielding one of their most cutting edge lineup's to date.

Headlining was a true legend in UK underground music, the one and only, Zed Bias. Since the early days of UK Garage, his production always stood out from the crowd and has also without doubt stood the test of time. His recent work has showed has ability to adapt with the times, now being one of the front runners of the new "Swamp 81" type sound. Joining him was Night Slugs main man, Bok Bok, with the mysterious Route 94 and New York Transit Authority joining the fun. Swamp 81 new boy and man of the moment ,Paleman completed this impressive lineup, with Cable packed to the rafters!

We grabbed a word with the delightful Zed Bias, who took us through his early days of being doorman turned producer, going on to start Sidewinder Recordings, and eventually becoming one of the true kings of the UK Garage Scene. He also let's into a little known fact about his passion for New Jack Swing and Jazz, his take on the inspirational Loefah and the whole "Swamp 81" sound, and what's in store for his own imprint, "Biasonic", this year.

Welcome to the seventh episode of Cable TV, taking you behind the scenes at Cable London, with exclusive artist interviews and footage, as well as much more.

This weeks episode features a Drum and Bass dynasty, as the mighty Virus Recordings celebrated 15 Years at the very top of their game, here at Cable. Responsible for some of the most forward thinking music to ever come out of the scene, including Ed Rush & Optical's seminal album, Wormhole, Virus paved the way for many of the current DnB crop. We caught up with label boss Ed Rush to find out his thoughts on the past 15 years, his take on analogue and digital production, as well as talking about his much anticipated new album with Optical.

The legendary Matrix also joined us on the couch to talk about what Virus means to him, discussing sibling rivalry with his brother, Optical, and the current state of Drum and Bass.

Of course Vivek was on hand as always to have a chat with a few people round the club, as well as using his "special powers' to get someone free entry.

Full interviews and bonus material from the night coming soon, as well as more outtakes from Vivek.
Our friends over at We Fear Silence have an update for you! Read about it below -

"Since we began we've been fighting tooth and nail against it. Every party we do, every event we run and every poster we put our name on is all for the same cause - to banish any notion of silence from the city. 4 years of battling, and 4 years of winning. We've called upon some of the worlds greatest DJs and producers to help us conquer it. We fear silence. What do you fear?"

Here's video featuring some of the people who've helped We Fear Silence along the way: Goldie, Skream, Artwork, Friction, DJ EZ, High Rankin, Dub Pistols, Dale Howard, Congo Natty, SGT Pokes, Peshay, Rizzle Kicks, Royal T, Ed Rush & Optical, Iration Steppas, Channel One Sound System, Matrix, Bluesy Chefal, Silkie, Terror Danjah & many more.

As a special push by Google to get their Google Hangouts program into the psyche of internet users – last week they got Radio 1 presenter and globe trotting DJ, Annie Mac, to take to the platform, via youtube, for a special 40 minute broadcast.

Al though at many points, the connection is sketchy – we see Annie Mac talking from her London home, as she takes a hiatus from DJing while she has a baby.

Brighton producer, and Gangoon Dubz very own Dismantle jumped in on affairs – introduced as “a banging producer of future bass music,” Annie called him a “ferocious producer, who’s style sits comfortably as an ADD DJ”.

In the hangout, Dismantle announced the release of his EP on Digital Soundboy, which we can expect in the next few months – while also dropping mentions to collaborations with Shy FX.

Catch up with the interview above, and if you want to get direct to the conversation with Dismantle, skip to 5:33.
