See. Hear. Read.

Welcome to our Broadcast section. Think of this area as a rolling stream of consciousness, a flow of aural and visual information beamed direct from the Cable office.
Former Radio 1 and 1Xtra DJ Bailey has been at the forefront of Drum and Bass for what seems like an eternity. Always one to push new music, he has championed some of the biggest names in the business from early on, as well as being resident DJ for Goldie's legendary label Metalheadz for years. He has also had releases on such labels as C.I.A, Roni Size's Full Cycle and many more. And ahead of his appearance at Planet V this Saturday alongside DnB royalty LTJ Bukem, Artificial Intelligence and Bladerunner, we've managed to get hold of this exclusive mix and interview from the man himself.

Where, how and on what was the mix recorded?

I did this mix at home on 2 Pioneer CDJ 800’s, Pioneer DJM 800 mixer and Serato. Pretty standard equipment really.

What are your past experiences of Cable?

I’ve had lots of good times and done so many different types of sets at Cable playing Drum & Bass, Garage, Soul, Funk and Hip Hop at nights such as Shogun Audio, Metalheadz, Swerve, Faster, Planet V and others.

Did you think about those when you were planning the mix? What was your aim with it?

My mixes are always made for a specific audience. In this case, it’s geared towards the vibe and sound of a Planet V night. Any time I go to one of those nights, it feels personal like someone’s birthday party. Smiling faces all round.

Any surprises or special exclusives?

I’m not sure what the exclusives are but there are definitely a lot of freshly baked cuts from established producers on the dark tip and soul edged sound of Drum & Bass.

When are you next at Cable and what can we expect from your performance?

I’ll be at Cable next on December 29th for Planet V. I’m bringing selection of my heaviest basslines and up beat party vibes and of course, lot’s of exclusives.
