25 years ago three chancers returned from a boys' holiday on the White Isle - they returned to London inspired by a little known Spanish DJ, who unbeknownst to them would precipitate a club land revolution. With their newly acquired Balearic tunes and hedonistic attitudes - they would re-write the history of early 90's dance music, with a musical movement that bred from Amnesia in Ibiza, to the dark tunnels, hidden from view, inside London's SE1. And back in December that very movement celebrated their 25th year anniversary at SE1's very own Cable.
Over 2 massive nights some of the biggest names in House & Techno and true pioneers of the scene graced the Cable decks including the legendary Derrick May, as well as Danny Rampling, Bushwacka!, Alfredo, Mat Playford and Farley & Heller.
This set was recorded live from Cable's main room, capturing the duo who were regulars at the infamous Shoom parties right from the very start. It demonstrates the whole ethos behind Shoom, that all music could and would be played, no matter what genre. Individually and separately they have both been hugely influential and integral parts of the British dance music scene for many years and this nostalgic mix shows why.
