Slum Village built itself on a reputation of creating the realest hip hop to ever come of Detroit – formed out of a childhood friendship between J Dilla, Baatin and T3, the trio set the story of their early days spent in Conant Gardens – to some of the tightest production to ever see the light of day. With Dilla at their helm, the crews’ ever re-developing face has seen them hide amongst the shadows of the underground for over 20 years – where they’ve released five records, two mixtapes and collaborated with the likes of Q-Tip, Questlove, John Legend and more.

But following ’06, where Dilla’s tragic death saw the group take a hiatus for a number of years, Slum Village returned in 2010 with ‘Villa Manifesto’, released through Koch Records. But with a new record, ‘Evolution’ on the horizon, the group are back on the road for a limited number of dates.

Catch Slum Village original, T3, alongside Illa J (Dilla’s brother and man of Yancey Boys fame), and Grammy nominated producer Young RJ – as they bring the sounds of Slum Village alive this spring.

Slum Village present the Dirty Slums tour, appearing on Thursday16th May at Relay, London. Full details can be found here.
