Last week, Twitter announced plans for it’s very own music streaming service. After buying the Australian music discovery program, We Are Hunted, last year, twitter have reported using the program to track data, in an attempt to build their own standalone music app.

The app, which will reportedly be called Twitter Music, tracks social media, bit torrent and other streaming services to build a pseudo-chart of online music. It is said that it will offer personalised artist and song recommendations, with suggestions pegged to SoundCloud – allowing artists to make suggestions using a network of hashtags.

And seeing as everyone loves a good suggestion – just look at the musical discovery that youtube has allowed – this development sounds like an exciting one.
