We Fear Silence present Shogun Audio with Friction & Dub Phizix
MCs: SP:MC, Mantmast, LX One
Room 2: Friction (Freestyle set), The Prototypes, MJ Cole, El Matador, Reference
The Shogun Audio / We Fear Silence connection first kicked off back in August 2010 here at Cable. Their sensational partnership helped change the face of London's drum and bass movement with a slew of roadblock parties, housed deep within the Victorian arches of Bermondsey Street Tunnel. Shogun Audio's tough-edged, cutting-edge take on the genre along with We Fear Silence' forward-facing attitude to throwing raves proved irrepressible. Two and a half years on and with so many fond memories, we're less than a week away from the last ever We Fear Silence presents Shogun Audio party. It's also a Christmas celebration for the two crews so this monumental occasion is sure to go down in Cable's history as one of our gnarliest gatherings to date. Dust off your dancing shoes for one last Shogun at Cable.
Guesting this time round is mancunian based beatsmith Dub Phizix. The man's developed his own blend of drum and bass, carving a future-facing minimalist approach in the scene and leaving a lasting taste on the tongues of ravers all over the country. In his relatively short career he's notched up a string of highly regarded releases on the leading imprints such as Exit Records, Soul:R, Samurai Music, Critical Recordings and Commercial Suicide amongst others. If you're not in the know, trust us! You're in safe hands.
Of course it wouldn't be a Christmas Shogun without 'Father' Friction taking control of things in the main room. He'll treat us with his trademark two hour show-stopper and then to a second, 'alternative' set in room two. Couple with this, appearances from the rest of the Shogun clan including Alix Perez, Spectrasoul, Icicle, Rockwell and more. SP:MC, Mantmast and LX One are on top of all things lyrical and garage stalwart MJ Cole leads the way in room 2 with The Prototypes, El Matador. Merry crimbo!
